Alcohol education Classes can help to stop the lies (part 2)

All alcohol has a few common characteristics. Of course, drink too much alcohol and depends on the poison are one thing. Lies and excuses are two other things that they share all as well.

As Advisor for both classroom and online alcohol awareness classes, I hear the lies and excuses people with alcohol problems say themselves and those they love every day. They even try those same lies on me and their classmates.

Just last night, I had one of my students which is one of the most progressive stages of alcoholism lie to us. Martin is a really sad story. Its history is a casual use how transformed into horrible abuse and now are all that there was smoke, mirrors, lies and excuses.

History of Martin

Martin is the owner of a small business for 36 years. Martin was born in Bosnia and was one of the few members of his family to survive severe oppression. Two of his brothers and sisters and his father never made to America. Immigrating to the United States at the age of 10 he has never been easy. It was difficult to learn a new culture. Learn a new language was something few of us can say that we had to experience.

While the other children were outside and play, Martin takes English classes, becoming commonly 2 years before he had been in the country. Father of Martin was an alcoholic before it disappeared during the Bosnian-Serb conflict. Upon his arrival in America, it does remember sobre mother.

When his mother failed if poster for one of gymnastics at school meetings, he swore that he would never drink alcohol. It was the first real lie that he recalls telling himself. Since then, more than 15 years ago, the lies have piled up to where he knows even that it is really more.

Big lie # 1 - "I only toss socially."

By its final year of high school to all his friends were drinking at parties. He remembers the logic behind his taking his first glass - a shot of vodka Smirnoff. Before his first glass, trying to strengthen his negative attitude towards the alcohol-"I hate the taste of alcohol and it ruined my mother."

Many drinks in one of the rooms of the House, all he remembered later, were drinking games and all the fun he had. Now the reasoning become "was not so bad." I don't even remember it bad taste after a few. It was fun. "It is probably the last thing said the truth, he said he was on alcohol.

The first alarm clock

As most drinkers, Martin does not have a really negative experience with alcohol for a period of time. It was almost four years later, as a senior college which arose his first "real" problem with alcohol. Martin went to a University with a policy of zero tolerance for breaking the law. Martin and some of his roommates were drinking and were relieve themselves outside the Fraternity House when the police arrived.

Zero tolerance means that he and his companions were expelled. He has not only lost his scholarship of gymnastics, but finds himself with no career path. His drinking continued despite the absence of the parties to go.

The second Wake Up call

After working for a company of landscaping for a few years, he decided to start his own business. Martin de jure it was completely "BS" was end - and everyone blamed of his housemates, the brothers of the fraternity to rent-a-cops in his college town which he kicked out of school.

At the age of 29, he received his first offence for driving under the influence (DUI). Naturally there is lies and excuses for this as well. He "kicked ass" on the sobriety test. It does not fall on the side, followed by the fingers of Constable of police and even recite the alphabet backward (he memorized it College).

Unfortunately he felt so confident after sobriety test on he took the breathalyzer and breathed a.10. His excuse was of course that he had only a few beers.

Of course, there was a third and fourth wake up call, an another DUI and a charge of domestic violence where alcohol is concerned, which finally had him in my classroom. He always complains that all these problems are not with his consumption of alcohol. He continues to believe the lies he tells himself, even as his company began to crumble.

Martin is a perfect example of how alcoholics can lie and blame someone and everything except alcohol on their problems. It seems to be the premise that if you continue to do so in the same way and they do not work, continue to try the same method.

Remember, alcohol is a serious drug and its use should be closely monitored. If you or someone you love has an alcohol problem, please seek help immediately. If you prefer total anonymity, there are classes of awareness alcohol and online.

Mike Miller is the Director of education to the class of alcohol online, a website specialized on minors and alcohol awareness classes in the classes of possession.

Buprenorphine: What is it and how can it help me cure my addiction to opioids?

Buprenorphine is the main active ingredient contained in Subutex and Suboxone (Suboxone also contains naloxone) and, in higher doses, is used to treat opioid dependence. At lower doses, it is commonly used to treat moderate chronic pain. Buprenorphine is a derivative of the opium poppy plant like other drugs, such as morphine and heroin are; However, it is not quite as strong as these drugs. This is because the buprenorphine is a partial opioid agonist drugs such as morphine, heroin and oxycontin are complete opioid agonists.

Basically, this means, is that when an individual is given buprenorphine, the chemical partially active in the individual brain opioid receptors, causing the person to feel slightly euphoric, but well short of the intensity that they feel if they were to take a full agonist opioid such as heroin.

When a person drinks the heroin (a number any methods), the drug fully active a opioids in the brain receptors, causing a feeling high through the central nervous system of the body (assuming that the dose is high enough). Obviously, quite small doses, will be felt without effect. This is why mental and physical dependence is so common with opiates because the body learns to love the feeling and finally very difficult to cope without it.

Potential adverse effects of buprenorphine

Like other opiates, buprenorphine can also cause minor to serious side effects. More serious side effects, however, are more common in people who do not already have tolerance built into their body for opioids (non-opiate addicts). It is people who can be introduced to the drug for the first time and eventually take too, which can lead to breathing difficulties, nausea and even death by respiratory failure (rare). However, buprenorphine taken from people who already have a tolerance to opioids are much less likely to experience more serious consequences as the overdose and death, however, side effects such as nausea, constipation, irregular breathing, slow heartbeat, sexual frustration, urinary retention (difficulty urinating), the insomnia and dryness of the mouth are extremely common.

When starting the buprenorphine as the Suboxone treatment, it is important that the individual has not taken any other opiates for 12 to 18 hours at least before the first dose of buprenorphine, otherwise they could be placed in precipitated withdrawal essentially characterized by the intensification of the withdrawal symptoms (worse than the withdrawals to the opiate normal that the person is used to). To avoid withdrawal symptoms precipitated, follow the orders of doctors and make sure that you are currently in withdrawal at the time of your first buprenorphine administered (or Suboxone) dose.

As with many other drugs, buprenorphine can cause serious (and potentially fatal) side effects if the drug is combined with other drugs (especially the antidepressants or tranquilizers). Current medications associated with negative consequences include xanax, valium, alcohol, heroin, vicodin, oxycontin and methadone. When these drugs are combined with buprenorphine, they amplify the effect of sedetary on the respiratory system and can lead to respiratory or failure (which is the most common cause of death) heart. How do the buprenorphine (such as Suboxone)?

The most common form of buprenorphine for the treatment of opioid dependence is Suboxone contains four parts buprenorphine for each naloxone part. Naloxone counters the effect of buprenorphine to reduce the risk of abuse Suboxone occur. There are two options for taking Suboxone; Film of Suboxone and Suboxone pills. The Film sublingual Suboxone is a more recent version of the manufacturer and is more convenient for most people, because it is easy to cut the pieces to match the dose you need and taste is less intense. The sublingual pill or Tablet is a soft tablet which generally divides crumble when you try to reduce parts (I would not recommend the use of this option). With the other option, you take the piece of the band or the pill and put it under your tongue to dissolve. You do not want chewing or swallowing drugs as this would cancel the intended effects of the drug.

Jason Mears is a blogger, musician, business owner, former opiate addict and founder of suboxoneinformation.org which is a web portal non-profit dedicated to inform people on Suboxone and its effectiveness in treating opioid dependence. To learn more about the buprenorphine and Suboxone and how it can help you or the person you care defeat their opioid dependence, visit http://www.suboxoneinformation.org/.

Alcohol and end Classes equals bad notes

Drinking, sleeping late and skipping class are synonymous with college life for many American students. Because they like staying up late partying they tend to choose their class schedule by start time over all other considerations. As a counselor for both classroom and online alcohol awareness classes I have many college students among my pupils. I had a student that took eight years to graduate because he kept changing majors based on class time.

Faulty Logic

The general logic here is that you need your sleep so it's OK to drink alcohol and party late as long as you don' t miss your sleep or classes. The premise is flawed at its very foundation. It is not possible to binge drink on a regular basis, stay up until the early hours of morning, sleep through a good part of the day and expect to succeed at anything, let alone the rigors of a university education.

College Students Can be Very Myopic

The first problem is with this logic involves the alcohol. College students are some of the most fearless individuals on the planet. They fear the consequences of all the heavy drinking they do rarely. Many feel invincible.

Even on the occasion where they have a bad experience as a result of their alcohol consumption they fail to see the long-term consequences of continuing to drink heavily on a regularly basis. Even if they have missed classes due to hangovers, failed an exam, or even been arrested, many college students are so myopic they cannot see the hazardous long-term effects that are starting to take hold!

Messing With Sleep is Like Messing With Mother Nature

The second major flaw in the premise deals with sleep. It is no coincidence that the second flaw is erbaydar by the first. By that I mean that alcohol interrupts sleep. While you may "pass out" rapidement and wake up six or eight hours later, you are not getting proper sleep. The intoxicated brain doesn't allow for the deep REM Cycle sleep the mind and body needs. This is one of the reasons many college students who consume large amounts of alcohol feel constantly lethargic - they are always sleep deprived!

Let's not forget that research has shown that heavy alcohol consumption leads to interrupted sleep as well. Many of the people I have counseled have no problem falling asleep, but awaken sometime during the night and have problems getting back to sleep. This is a very common effect of alcohol on a person.

The Combination Can Be Fatal to Your GPA!

Research has shown that drinking well into the night has an adverse effect on academic success. Students with later class start times also consumed more alcohol and reported more binge drinking. Students who stayed up late were more likely to consume heavy amounts of alcohol more often.

Heavy drinking is not only detrimental to your grade point average, it is downright dangerous for your body. Combined with a lack of sleep, alcohol destroys the internal organs, increases blood pressure and increases a person's chance for heart disease.

Remember, alcohol is a drug, and as such its use should be closely monitored. If you or someone you care about suffers from a drinking problem, I urge you to seek help immediately. If you prefer to maintain your anonymity there are online alcohol awareness classes as well.

Mike Miller is the Education Director at Online Alcohol Class, a website specializing on online alcohol awareness classes and minor in possession classes.

In only the late nineteen nineties, it was expected that more than two and a half million individuals would be abusing drugs or alcohol in the workplace after the year 2000, this projection developed by research on the current state of the dependence of our citizens, and the increase in drug and alcohol abuse has increased with each year passing.

Also in the research it has been shown that more than two hundred and fifty billions of dollars were lost in the workplace since nineteen hundred 95 because of the abuse of alcohol or drugs at work each year. Did you know that more than thirty per cent of all calls to hospital during the day in America are due to an accident involving drugs or alcohol in the workplace? This number is only growing, and large companies are beginning to crack down. Some employers require testing before hiring, with current testing on a monthly basis. Others can test for drugs and alcohol immediately after an accident has occurred in the employer's work environment. While this means for drug addicts in the workplace?

It may take a few years for each company or corporation jump "on board" with respect to the regular medication and testing level of alcohol. Although when it does not it may mean that these individuals would begin to lose their jobs; They lose their salaries and often times the ability to find another job.

When the drug and alcohol abuse is a pattern of shooting, your past employers may be unable to tell this information to employers who seek to engage you in the future. In this economy of the loss of a job and not be able to find another affect financially. This might not be able to pay a real estate and therefore lose a House.
